1944: Bola Chittaranjan Das Shetty was famous Tulu and Kannada writer, who was the president of the 16th Mangalore Taluk Kannada Sahitya Sammelan.

1954: Ravi Shankar Prasad, Indian lawyer, politician and the current Union Minister holding the Law and Justice.
